Sprint Short
course with more navigation challenge
Motala
Series of short courses on separate maps run sequentially with map
exchanges (like a relay by yourself!)
Memory
Any length, usually shorter - view map at the start, but maps not
allowed on the course
Bike
Any length, intermediate navigation, designed for bicycle use
Trail 1.0km
to 2.0km in length, accessible design, test of map interpretation
skills, low physical demand
Line
Any length, follow a marked line on the map to find the controls (no
circles, stick to the line!)
Score
Find any number of checkpoints worth varying amounts of points
(score) in any order with a time limit
Rogaine
Longer time duration score course 4, 8, 12, or 24 hour time limits are
common.
